Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, signing in, or using the crucible.fans platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and crucible.fans. We recommend reading them carefully alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. Service Description

crucible.fans is a global matchday discovery platform that connects fans with places to watch live sports together ("ends"). The Service enables users to:

  • Browse and discover ends in cities worldwide
  • Create and host ends (viewing parties at venues, homes, fan zones)
  • Reserve spots ("lock in") at ends before they fill up
  • Purchase tickets for paid ends via PayPal
  • Leave reviews and comments on ends they attend
  • Earn points, build streaks, and invite friends through our growth program

The Service is provided "as is" and may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time. We reserve the right to add or remove features without notice.

3. User Accounts

To use most features of the Service, you must create an account. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 16 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)
  • You provide accurate and complete registration information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You accept responsibility for all activity under your account

You may sign in via email magic link, Google OAuth, or Apple OAuth. Each method creates a single crucible.fans account linked to your identity.

4. User Content & License

You retain ownership of all content you create on the Service, including end titles, descriptions, reviews, comments, and photos ("User Content").

By posting User Content, you grant crucible.fans a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and display your content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Service. This license ends when you delete your account or specific content, except where cached or archived by our systems.

You represent that your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights and is not defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unlawful.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Create fake ends, misrepresent venues, or use the Service for fraudulent purposes
  • Post spam, malware, or unsolicited commercial content
  • Harass, abuse, or intimidate other users through reviews or comments
  • Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract data from the Service without permission
  • Use the Service to compete with crucible.fans or build a derivative service
  • Resell access to the Service or share accounts beyond personal use
  • Bypass any technical measures we use to protect the Service

For hosts: you are responsible for the accuracy of your end details (location, capacity, match schedule) and for ensuring a safe environment for attendees. crucible.fans is not liable for disputes between hosts and attendees.

6. Payments & Pricing

Most features of the Service are free. Some ends may require payment ("ticketed ends"). Payment terms:

  • All payments are processed securely via PayPal
  • Prices are set by the host and include any applicable fees
  • Refund policies are determined by each host — check the end details before purchasing
  • crucible.fans may charge a commission on ticketed ends (currently 0% during launch period)
  • Venue hosts receive commission payouts based on their configured payment details

By completing a purchase, you agree to PayPal's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy in addition to these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property

The crucible.fans brand, logo, trademarks, service marks, and all platform content (excluding User Content) are the intellectual property of crucible.fans and its licensors. You may not use our trademarks without prior written consent.

The Service's software, design, code, and database structure are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

8. Disclaimers & Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • MERCHANTABILITY and FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
  • NON-INFRINGEMENT of third-party rights
  • ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, or RELIABILITY of end information, match schedules, or venue details
  • UNINTERRUPTED or SECURE access to the Service

We do not warrant that ends will be available as described by hosts, that venues will honor reservations, or that the Service will meet your specific requirements.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CRUCIBLE.FANS, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities
  • Personal injury, property damage, or emotional distress arising from attendance at an end
  • Disputes between hosts and attendees
  • Service interruptions, delays, or errors

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO CRUCIBLE.FANS IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR $100 USD IF NO PAYMENT WAS MADE).

NOTE: Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such cases, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless crucible.fans, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your User Content or violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights
  • For hosts: any claim arising from an end you host (e.g., attendee injury, venue disputes)

11. Termination

Either party may terminate these Terms at any time:

  • You: Delete your account via Settings or by emailing us
  • We: Suspend or terminate your account for cause (material breach, fraud, abuse) with reasonable notice

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections on Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Intellectual Property, and Governing Law survive termination.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers residing in the EU or UK may bring claims in their local courts as required by mandatory consumer protection laws.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Service at least 30 days before the new terms take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
